On International Women’s Day, here’s your chance to support ladies who launch. Female fashion, beauty and design entrepreneurs from across the globe – Ludhiana, Delhi, Hong Kong, Spain – are in Bombay in (bohemian) spirit at the Boho Love Bazaar, set up at Kala Ghoda’s LoveShafalai store until March 13.
Run by designer and businesswoman Shafali Choudhrie Diwanji, this lovely South Bombay store is now a wonderfully curated closet full of what should be your favourite things right now! To begin with, every day is #WellnessWednesday, thanks to the well-stocked beauty shelves where you can buy jade face rollers to balance your chakras and blush papers (great for travel!) by Delhi’s Dromen & Co apothecary; hand poured smoked fig candles by Nitara Ayurveda; scents by Two Saints from France; and wild harvest mud masks by Purearth.
Next, walk on over to the wall of accessories, dominated – and rightly so - by Spanish designer Tissa Fontaneda’s (who has in the past done stints at LVMH, Loewe and Narciso Rodriguez) signature bubble bags; and Inochhi’s awesome mules, including a pair topped with pompoms. But peer closely and you will also find smaller baubles you definitely shouldn’t miss, like Akihi Jaipur’s intricately hand-embroidered earrings and tie pins; Shingora’s buttery silk scarves printed with foliage and flowers; and Pulp’s bags fashioned from paper textiles.
And all this time, sitting patiently at the other end of the room is a line of Shafali’s in-house clothing collection, Inayat. Crisp white and silver striped, these mithai box–reminiscent kurtas and dresses will make you long for the best kind of celebration – a sweet, quiet one.
Getting there: Boho Love Bazaar, LoveShafali, 17, Commerce House, Rope Walk Lane, Opp. Kala Ghode Cafe, Kala Ghoda, Fort. Call 22611163, follow them on Instagram & Facebook. On until March 13, closed on Sundays!
