Ayca: Named after the rising new moon, Ayca is a luxe, paraben-free bath and body brand. We love that it’s made in India, and that founders Mallyeka & Himani add all sorts of feel-good fixings to their products. There’s a range of aloe vera gels spiked with tea tree oil, jasmine, lemongrass and turmeric; sandalwood scrubs and cleansing milks which are natural make up removers; and our favourite lavender body wash. Men, they haven’t forgotten about you. Cleansers made with oudh wood, tea tree and peppermint will keep things fresh.
Dr Sheth’s: Dermatologist Dr Rekha Sheth has for decades been the first and last word in skin care, and now finally, she has her own skin care brand. Long-derm solutions? Yes. Along with her son Dr Aneesh Sheth, the family has launched Dr Sheth’s, a brand formulated by three generations of experts and created specifically for Indian skin. It offers a thoroughly researched blend of vitamins, minerals and extracts to give your skin all the sustenance it needs and also to repair it. The best bit is that these products are free from animal cruelty, parabens, sulfates and all other nasties. We love: the basic brightening daily sunscreen and the Vitamin Glotion.
Kama Ayurveda: We love this beauty brand for making local ingredients covetable. Potions and lotions are made with Kashmiri saffron, banyan, kokum, sesame oil, gooseberry, indigo, and packaged to look delicious enough to eat. We love the kumkumadi night serum and their new SPF 15 sunscreen.
SkinLab: Dr. Jamuna Pai’s glowing skin is the best billboard for SkinLab, the celebrity cosmetic physician's studio. Here you can opt for a Pai chart of beauty rituals that adhere to the highest medical standards, from derma fillers and cool sculpting to laser hair reduction, professional peels and facials. Now in its 23rd year, SkinLab promises to keep you looking youthful, but not without that signature Pai glow.
Skin Story: This facial bar in Bandra levitates above the chaos of Pali Naka, but totally cuts you off from the din. Trained therapists give artisanal facials in individual cubicles, to the sound of Beatles’ tracks, hydrating, scrubbing and misting your face with ease. Here, face masks are mixed with Thalgo products and grapefruit extracts and algae are used to make your skin feel as good as new.

Sublime Factory: This online “factory” (for men, women and kids) curates bath and beauty products from brands all over India and the globe, offering bubbly labels like Milk & Co, Anatomicals, Mojo, Dr. Scheller and Be. The website conveniently divides products into skin care, grooming, hygiene, bath & body, hair, cosmetics and has a separate man cave with shaving tools and grooming kits. Special mention for Black Leopards' men's grooming range from Australia.
Vous Salon: We can’t tress enough the importance of getting an appointment at Vous. This 11-year-old luxury salon at Napeansea Road is run by makeup artist and hair stylist Sneha Daftary. She’s best known for her sharp hair cuts and classic color jobs like Balayage, ombré, highlights and more. She’s great with brides (and bridezillas too). Vous also offers express eye make-up (A La Mode Eyes) and base make-up services (A La Mode Contouring) for pre-party war paint; and recently launched a Vous Nail Bar for manicures, gel and acrylic nails, and nail art services.
