Smarting from the price we just paid for a box of Italian lemons, it's sweet that the universe offered us a free Fellini screening right after. La Dolce Vita, indeed.
Sharing the same compound as Foodhall, Peddar Road is the Italian Consulate thhas posters up for Italian Movie Nights, where dramas, comedies and biopics are screened for free at the embassy in the evenings. Do they serve gelati during the interval? We had the same question. The answer is no.
But there's enough Dole on offer - a montage of almost-kisses in fountains; slow dances through storms of pillow feathers; a swirl of paparazzi and spinning candelabras; heiresses and statues of Jesus flying over Rome. Federico Fellini's award-winning, utterly beautiful La Dolce Vita (comedy/drama) will be screened tomorrow, May 25 at 5 pm. Entry is free, but you must RSVP at email@example.com.
And if that makes you want to summer in Rome almost immediately, visa applications are accepted a few doors down from the screening.
Getting there: Italian Embassy Cultural Centre – Mumbai Section, c/o Consulate General of Italy Kanchanjunga, 1st Floor, 72 G. Deshmukh Marg, Peddar Road, call 23804071, RSVP at firstname.lastname@example.org, free entry.
