Sanket Avlani is a man of cloth. He and his team treat textile and design as religion, and this could be their attempt to convert you: a three day festival that brings together homegrown heroes and international rock stars of the design world at an aptly titled venue – Famous Studios.
Sanket, an ex advertising art director and serial font corrector first founded Taxi Fabric, the initiative that dressed black-and-yellow cabs in upholstery designed by local artists. Next, the team founded Design Fabric (you see the whole man of cloth thing now?), an online editorial platform that this festival is an extension of. Kids, come early to get a good pew.
Hi, Who’s Speaking?
You can book tickets here for Design Fabric Festival (DFF), plans for which will be sketched from March 29 to 31. The team promises an engaging series of talks, artist-led workshops, panel discussions, networking events and parties across the city.
