The makers of your favourite T-shirt (Hi, Boys Equals Girls!) bring you a new where this weekend.
In collaboration with Dysco, MIXX presents Mind The Gap on Sunday, June 3 at WeWork, BKC. This is an exploration of gender equality within professions and workplaces, through a series of awesome, non-snoozy talks, installations, music performances and workshops.
Sports, aviation, theatre, comedy, transport and music panels feature engaging speakers like Rohan Joshi, Sumukhi Suresh, Suhail Chandhok, Janaki Subramaniam (see full list here).
We’re also excited to wander through rooms that showcase these installations and screenings: Women’s Ice Hockey Team in the Himalayas photography exhibit; Boys of Safdarjung short film; and Gender Neutral Clothing on the Body Form. Plus, workshops on creative conceptualization by National Geographic Your Shot photographer Riddhi Parekh (we’ve signed up!); and a much needed one that involves boys and men in deeper conversations about gender norms, body image, patriarchy, sexuality and gender equality. We know it will take a while, but tag all the boys you know who need to enroll.
And finally, your ticket will get you an audience with performers like harpist Nush Lewis, singer-songwriter Ankur Tewari, performance artist Princess Pea, and Shyenne Pepper, who will do stand up in drag.
Nice little MIXX of folks, don’t you think?
