Mumbai’s favourite culinary family polishes an heirloom and makes it sparkle again. The Thams take over the Kamling space at Churchgate, to bring you their brand new Asian bar and restaurant, Foo Town.

Foo Town, an extension of the Thams’ Foo at Phoenix Mills, offers all–day dining and drinking; the menu lists most of the original Foo tapas + 20 new dishes and also a few Kamling classics, including Kamling Hakka Chicken, whole Pomfret, and the Peking Fish you loved feasting on with your family.

Indulge in nostalgia, sure, but don’t forget to try the trendy updates - Foo Asian Burrata, a modern burrata-quinoa salad crowned with romaine lettuce and avocado smears; Po-Po Belgian pork with pomelo, kafir, lemongrass, and peanuts; crispy Black Bean Snapper; Japanese Vegetable Tempura; and vegan sushi.

For a light, healthy meal, breeze through the Steamed Foo Baskets: edamame and Pod, prawns topped with Pixian sauce and the lightly cooked Super Foo Salad; broccoli and spicy-tofu dumplings.

Also a good plan at this all-day restaurant is to stop by for our two favourite food groups – dessert and cocktails. The kitchen promises a spectacular Chocolate and Marshmallow Sushi Roll; and also Gooey Fried Cheesecake with ice-cream; and Yuzu Orange Cream Caramel. Meanwhile at the bar, in-house mixologist Dimitri Lezinska, has been busy blending and mixing and muddling cocktails like the Miso Sour; and Gateway Pavillion; a whole section of sangrias inspired from across the world; Gin Tails - a collection of gin blends like the Spanish G&T and Foo By The Bay; and tall drinks named after Marine Drive (Mule) and Fountain Road (Cooler).
