Are you still at work? We ask because a vacation plan has just come up. Prep for your summer of frolic with a getaway at St Regis’ rooftop bar Asilo, which has just inaugurated its Spanish Escape pop-up for the next three weeks. Ja ja ja!

Take the elevator up into the summer skies and find Asilo transformed into a Spanish sanctuary, bursting with colour and curlicues, gently buffeted by the salt breeze. Climbing up on deck are Asilo’s phenomenal finds from Iberia -- a brilliant saxophonist and guitarist playing beautiful modern sets. Hey (dosti) flamingo, wanna flamenco?

Whether you say yes or no to dancing, don’t skip dinner and drinks. Specialty cocktails and traditional Spanish cuisine both get a glitzy Asilo twist from the kitchen for this escape. Chef Cyrus and his team serve up tapas that rangle from smoked portobello and truffle croquette bites; lamb empanada with caramelised onions and cream cheese; spanish frittata with smoked ham and cherry tomatoes + manchego, and lots more. Did you say ‘paella’? So did they: a traditional Paella Valencia, with lobster, prawns, chorizo and chicken await you in a cast iron skillet (vegetarians, you get Paella Primavera with peppers, olives, artichoke and asparagus). They’re so ready to party, even your churros come with a tequila chocolate sauce.

For drinks pick from Spanish wines such as Gramona La CuveeGran Reserva Brut, Penedés; Bodegas Roda Reserva, Rioja; Bodegas Mauro, Tudela del Duero and lots more. Now do you feel like dancing? Come join us -- we don’t call this the Getaway of India for nothing, you know.

Getting there: Spanish Escape at Asilo, 38th floor, St Regis Hotel, Lower Parel, until May 7, call 022-61628031.
