We know that the boys from O Pedro were recently frolicking in Portugal, and so we’re not surprised that they brought back this little souvenir for us. It’s good enough to eat.
The BKC restaurant’s new monsoon Rice Bowls are an ode to Portugal’s Arroz de Marisco, an easygoing, coastal dish from its seaside towns.
Big, hearty, steamy – no we’re not describing your relationship – are all great ways to define these rice bowls, packed with interesting flavours and about as comforting as a cashmere shawl. Vegetarians, explore the Green Pea & Cheese Rice Bowl, packed with pea tendrils, tomato and topped with an herb vinaigrette; or the more robust Mushroom Rice Bowl cooked with baby spinach and studded with shitake mushrooms and roasted garlic.
The non-veggie bowls are a nod to the rich legacy of the Portuguese in Goa. Take for instance the B**f Rice Bowl, which combines the fragrant parsley gremolata braised oxtail and bone marrow on a bed of moreish rice to create a wholesome meal. Or fish for the Clams & Shrimp Rice Bowl brightened by ginger, spicy fermented mango and coconut milk.
If you stop by looking for a sweetheart, the good ol’ Rice Pudding with salted caramel mousse and caramelized rice puffs, should do it.
Eu te amo!
