If you must find yourself in a soup this season, let it be at The Fatty Bao.
As part of Fatty Floats Your Boat, the Asian restaurant is pairing the rain with ramen, piping hot soupy noodles, dim sums and crisp spicy fried appetisers.
The monsoon menu, available until July 31, has been put together by chef Steven Haung for Fatty’s Bandra and Andheri outposts. Browse and you will be rewarded first with a list of new dim sum - chicken dumpling with smoked tofu and kimchi enveloped in translucent wrappers and steamed; Blue Butterfly Pea Flower Dumpling with fresh avocado and Philadelphia cream cheese; and Cuttlefish, Prawn and Red Jalapenos Dim Sum.
Next, make way for this season’s best friend: fried appetisers. Choose from Roast Duck Meat Rolls; Roasted Aubergine Parcels; Fried Prawn and Garlic Roll – all served with their signature spicy house made chilli sauce, hoisin chilli sauce and smoked eggplant miso butter sauce.
And now we’re down to our favourites – simmering bowls of soupy noodles and ramen starring heart-nourishing 8-hour broths garnished with meats, spring onions and a plethora of toppings including soft boiled eggs and spiked with a dash of chilli oil. Our favourites: Spicy Crab Gyoza and Miso Butter Ramen and Fatty Pho Rainy Day Kimchi Soupy Noodle with tofu.
Drawn like a broth to the flame.
