Pour over this: for one night only, on March 14, two master mixologists from Hong Kong will unpack their best skills at The Bombay Canteen bar. Their expertise does not come without theatrics (these are packed into carry-on luggage), so bottles will be twirled and minds will be blown as vodka-rocket juice and whisky-Ramazzotti concoctions are sent out.
This potion power duo - Owen Gibler and Jameel Frith - hail from the Hong Kong bar, Employees Only (originally from New York and currently ranked 37th on The World’s Best Bars list) and are part of the first Canteen Cocktail Cocktail Takeover. We hope this guest bar pop up event develops into a long-standing series. Muddle huddle?
On the menu for the night you will find the HK bar’s five iconic cocktails - EO Gimlet (gin, agave and kaffir lime cordial, shaken and served with lots of ice; Waterloo (fresh muddled watermelon served tall with gin, Campari and lime juice); Rocket Fuel (a potent mix of vodka and rocket juice); Lions Tale (whisky and fresh lemon juice shaken with honey and homemade allspice dram) and Rhymes with Red (an intoxicating combination of whisky mixed with sweet vermouth, peaty single malt, Ramazzotti and all spice dram).
And all this shaking and muddling will be scored by live jazz music, Ryan Sadri on the saxophones and DJ Uri. If this isn’t the best hump day plan for March, we don’t know what is. Gimlets enjoy!
