Breaking bread with family over a bowl of Butter Chicken is how we like to remember Copper Chimney, everyone’s favourite North Indian restaurant.

The Space: Bell Of The Ball

Since its launch in Worli in 1972, Copper Chimney has come a long way, now ready for its latest update, launching on May 17: a sleek BKC restaurant (its 13th outpost) with a hip bar, an organic herb garden and grills plus healthier options like whole wheat roomali rotis.

Situated in the heart of the business district, the BKC venue is inspired by Art Deco influences, and features a copper bell installation at its entrance. Wood, copper accents, cane and fans of foliage make up the large, airy space. PS: lovers, there are alcoves for private dinners too.

The Food: Raan Rate

The kitchen takes age-old secret recipes and combines them with contemporary flair to create soups & starters (like Delhi-style Fried Chicken, and Tawa Imli Aloo; Tandoor Grills (Tandoori Dhaba Aloo, Tandoori Fire Chicken, Slow-Cooked Frontier Raan); Signature biryani layered, sealed and cooked over a slow fire; Curries (Chicken Bharta, the 21 spice-blend Rogan Josh, Paneer Masala and Bazaar ke Chole)); and dessert, including the Muzaffar, a luscious Lucknowi rabdi topped with golden, roasted vermicelli; and the new Almond Phirni Chikki Crumble.

For BKC worker bees, they also offer the Copper Chimney Customised Lunch - unlimited signature grills, appetisers, soups & greens, curries, breads, rice and desserts, all for Rs 699 AI. There’s a soup and salad lunch at just Rs 199 AI for those who were scared off by that previous sentence.

Drinks: Your New After Work Spot

Once you’ve done your work lunch here, try it out after office hours. At the bar, signature cocktails include delights such as Achari Whiskey, which combines ginger ale and a generous drop of spicy mango pickle; the Indian Long Island Iced tea, a mix of potent spirits and tender coconut water. Plus, anti-summer coolers including Delhi Shikanji, Khatta Jaljeera and Lemon Chai Sherbet. And the bar is stocked with beer, wine and spirits for basic betties who’d rather not try.

Sigh, this new Copper Chimney scene sounds like it’s second to naan.

And the final cherry on top: An unlimited meal on the house for the first 100 walk-ins on 17thMay. (T&C apply)

Getting there: Urban Plaza, 2nd floor, Plot C-5, “GN” Block, Bandra Kurla Complex, Next To Asian Heart Hospital, Bandra East. Call 2650 0228 / 2650 0229
