The new mate…er plate in town is super dishy. And you can spot it at Toast & Tonic, BKC, along with a host of others on their new menu, El Mundo.
Conceptualised by Senior Sous Chef Chirag Makwana, this ‘plate-for-everyone’ menu celebrates world influences and new-age dining brought together with local ingredients. So, order in the same breath a seafood and sausage stew from New Orleans; and Dan Dan Noodles from China.
Also try the Mexico-inspired Prawn Aguachile marinated to order with coriander and kaji lemon emulsion; Baked Chicken Bisteeya, delicately spiced minced chicken wrapped in a light flaky filo crust; Gochujang marinated Korean Fried Chicken; Grilled Tiger Prawns from Singapore.
And what’s a new dish at Toast & Tonic without a gorgeous G&T to match? There are five new cocktails at the bar – see Bagaan; a mix of gin, smoked Assam black tea and lavender tonic water; Of Kilts and Mundus, a combination of gin, filter kapi and rosemary tonic water; Diablo - a heady combination of gin, kaffir lime and bird’s eye chilies; The Irish Redhead made with Jameson, fresh carrot juice, charred cedar bitters, fresh lime and coconut sugar; Uno Para Mi, martini, egg white, aromatic bitters, fresh lime and simple syrup; and Shrubarita with house-made beetroot shrub, Cointreau, fresh lime and lemongrass infused simple syrup and a whole lot more.
So a plate and a glass for everyone? El Mundo for the win!
