So, it's been a rough few months. We know you've missed the cloudy soup you could cry into, the springy noodles, the covert flask - even the wait which could easily stretch over an hour in that tiny courtyard, where, sticky, hungry, almost succumbing to the temptation of tapas next door, you would bump into a familiar Bandra face that shared your pain.
Soys and girls, we have good news for you - Izumi is back in the 'hood, in a much larger avatar (seating 54 instead of skinny 16) and best yet - armed with a liquor license. That means you can swap out your trusty flask for a nice collection of cocktails, sakes, Japanese beers and whiskys.
Before you bury yourself in your usual ramen order, we suggest you make room for a bunch of new small plates, gyoza, yakitori and seafood ramen, all of which are debuting on the new Izumi menus.
For those of you living under a rock, Izumi is a little ramen shop that exploded on the Bandra scene last year, a sixteen seater that everyone from teenagers to great-grannies lined up to get into. Heartened by the response, the restaurant shut with a vow to come back in a bigger format, and boy, have they done good. Read our review, written by a very happy Roshni Bajaj Sanghvi, here.
Cherry on top? Izumi is a Coup Card parter. That means, 15% off your entire bill (food and alcohol) every time you visit. Other partners in Bandra include Sancho's, Indigo Deli, Nara Thai, Cin Cin, Bonobo, Olive and many more. See the full list here.
