Goa has a gift for you this summer, and it’s Greater Than the sun of its parts.

The craft gin everyone's been buzzing from finally launches in Bombay, and you should get yourself a tall drink tout de suite. Pitched as the only London Dry Gin made in India, Greater Than is copper pot-distilled with juniper berries sourced from Macedonia, along with botanicals including lemongrass, angelica root, orange peel, chamomile and coriander seeds. “The addition of ginger and fennel is what defines Greater Than,” says co-founder Anand Virmani who dreamed up this composition.

Speaking of dreamy, it's worth noting that the other half of this gin-soaked duo is Vaibhav Singh, the debonair gentleman who runs Perch bar and restaurant in Delhi. Worthier still, if you can get him or Anand to make you a gin cocktail.

If you can’t, get a bottle at the wine store (Rs 1,550) and make yourself a chilled G&T. “That’s how I like to do it,” Anand tells us. But on days when he isn’t feeling lazy – “a rarity” – he likes to whip up something with gin and jamun, inspired by a cocktail he had at Koko in Mumbai.
