There are several reasons to park your ark – read zoo of friends - at the Zen Café this monsoon. But the best one among them is the salted caramel latte, now on the new seasonal menu titled Nostalgique. And there’s no better place to sip it in than here at this café in Kala Ghoda, surrounded by rain cloud-coloured stone and a wild jumble of plants.
Visit with a large group, a date or even solo, for Zen Cafe is digital-nomad-tolerant, providing free Wi-fi, plenty of plug points, charging cables and coffee that’s micro-roasted in-house at the Brewbar.
Settle down (our favourite seat is by the large panes) and browse the rest of Zen Café’s Nostalgique monsoon menu: a fizzy Espresso Tonic (double espresso shot poured over tonic water) that’s almost as ebullient as you are; a soul-soothing Hot Toddy Tea to banish the monsoon blues and sniffles; a grilled cheese starring cheddar, gherkins and caramelized onions in sourdough baked here from scratch; and bitter-sweet mocha cake with cappuccino frosting.
Bundt + buzz? Yes, please!
Getting there: Zen Café, Fort Foundation Building, Bake House Lane, Kala Ghoda, call 9167768950.
