Verbena Brewpub & Skygarden: For the greenest, meanest brunch in mid-town, head to Verbena Brewpub & Skygarden. The feast is luxurious but the vibe is casual, which makes this a great Sunday nesting spot. You can choose from a variety of global and Indian dishes, plus station yourself at the wok counter, omelette station, Arabic cold mezze bar and live BBQ pit. And then there’s that brunch essential no one can resist: unlimited drinks.

Theory: The Sunday Boozy Brunch at Theory is kickstarted by a live band and DJ, and lives up to its title with a stellar list of cocktails, including lychee martinis and photogenic floral sangrias. Eggs are done a million different ways here (we love the Eggs In Pita) and the extensive spread covers soups, salads and jaffles (toasts); pastas, and mains of bean casseroles and beef taratre.

Unit 1, ground floor, C Wing, Trade World Building, Kamala Mills, Lower Parel, call 66666506, follow them on Instagram at @theorytheexperience, Rs 2,600 for the alcohol package.

The Table: Along with The Table’s best brunch offerings – elaborate Benedicts, breakfast quesadilla, biscuits & gravy, orange-ricotta pancakes - the Colaba restaurant also does a bake sale every Sunday from 8.30 am to 10.30 am, selling fresh croissants, bagels, cruffins breads from their bakery, Mag Street Bread Co. Swell!

Olive Bar & Kitchen: These are the cats that started it all. Olive is where brunch became a thing in India 19 years ago, and pastel people have been going ever since. Get a seat in the al fresco section and gather around their audibly crunchy pizzas and silently sinister cocktails. Funky Hummus and Fritatas, Red Velvet Fried Chicken and Cookie Dough Cheesecake await.

14, Nargis Dutt Road, Union Park, Khar (W), call 90229 55712, follow them on Instagram at @olivemumbai, Rs 3,250 per person for unlimited food and alcohol.

Masque: This gorgeous Mahalaxmi restaurant’s gin brunch will change the way you spend your Sundays. They offer a tapas-style brunch with close to a dozen small plates that change from week to week - brûléed caciotta cheese with house sourdough; tender lamb and kohlrabi leaves; barramundi tartare and more. And here’s the highlight: a gin table where diners can choose from a range of herbs, fruits, spices and botanicals to craft their own cocktails, mixed with housemade bitters and syrups. Sweet!

Gala 3, Laxmi Woollen Mill, Shakti Mills Lane, off Dr. E Moses Road, Mahalaxmi, call 24991010, follow them on Instagram at @masquerestaurant, Rs 3,500 for a five course meal + four gin cocktails each.

Gustoso: Gustoso brings Naples to your table with Giorno, an endless, all-you-can-eat brunch starring eggs to order, Cornetti, Crespelle, pasta, salad, pizza. Gustoso’s chef Giulio Adriani , four-times World Pizza Champion, has worked hard to curate this menu that highlights the “delicate and robust flavours” of Naples’ kitchens. Pair with bellinis, wine or mimosas. On the first Sunday of every month.

Ambedkar Road, Bandra (W) and Kemp's Corner, call 26485698, follow them on Instagram at @gustosoindia, Rs 3,299 for unlimited food and imported liquour.

The Clearing House: When confronted with free-flowing bubbly, bellinis, mimosas, beers, cocktails; plus whisky bread pudding, Passion Fruit Meringue Cheesecake and Cinnamon Buns with Cream Cheese Glaze, you'll realise that The Clearing House's "big, fat boozy brunch" claim is fairly accurate. The Sunday scene here is set with live music that scores delicious food options ranging from udon noodles and sliders to soft shell tacos and waffles.

13-15, Calicut Road, Ballard Estate, Fort, call 22657007, follow them on Instagram at @tchbombay, Rs 2,400 plus taxes per head.

Bastian: The Bastian brunch's classics - lobster breakfast taco, truffle stuffed French toast, gluten-free chocolate chip pancakes - are a hit with regulars, but most of all, we love how chefs Kel and Boo are constantly innovating with specials. See for instance their activated charcoal bread and cereal-glazed donut cheesecake.
