Top shots of fruit, almond milk, super greens, crowned with chia seeds and agave, stained with edible Rorschach blots and fuchsia beetroot veins: entrepreneur Marissa Bronfman’s smoothie bowls look like works of art, and her Instagram followers have often asked if she was showing anywhere. Well, Marissa’s food is finally getting an exhibit via her delivery service called Bowl Bar that launches in two weeks, and later this year, a vegan café by the same name in Bandra.

The delivery service (they’re taking inquiries now) will be a teaser for the café menu, offering chia puddings, almond milk and something she calls Bliss Balls. “Dense globes of fresh almond meal, dates and chia seeds. They’re super nutritional and will leave you in a state of bliss,” says Marissa, originally from Canada and currently running a media business in Mumbai. She also assures us that organic fruit and veggies, nuts and imported ingredients including cocoa nibs, agave, sea salt and chia seeds - “not sabza or Indian basil” - will feature in her food.

After the Bandra café, Marissa hopes to open an outpost in South Mumbai, and eventually expand to Delhi and Bangalore as well. Looks like she can’t contain(er) her excitement.

Getting there: Bowl Bar, orders can be placed through their Instagram account, Twitter account and Facebook page, or by emailing eat@bowlbarco.com, prices range between Rs 200 and Rs 600 per dish.
