Guppy's new winter menu is as warm and comforting as a hug. #NinjaChef Vikram Khatri and Chef Saurabh Sharan have made sure, by putting out hearty dishes and steaming soups and traditional Tokyo winter favourites.
Think salmon steak, curry udon noodles topped with minced soboro, Mentaiko (codfish roe), soft shell crab tossed with chillies, grilled lamb chops, grilled artichokes, and lovely new #GuppyDidItFirst - Bacon and Cream Cheese Sushi Rolls. "The Shabu Shabu (tenderloin) is also a must try," says chef Khatri.
Our favourite, though, are the Nabe hotpots; a super fun community experience. Imagine a Japanese hotpot dish of fresh ingredients stewed in broth, perfect for Delhi's winter. Enjoy it by adding your favourite veggies with a choice of black kadaknath chicken or Shabu-Shabu tenderloin. When all the ingredients are finished, toss the remaining noodles into the left-over broth for an extra tasty slurp.
Hot tip: mix in some spicy grated radish ponzu for citrus umami or goma dare for sesame umami.
Toss A Cointreau
Meanwhile, Guppy's marvellous mixologist Nishant Gaurav has a batch of cocktails waiting for you: Osaka Sour, Gintack, Vodka Bloom, a brandy bases Fuji Lava with cointreau & Ginnie San.
Here's looking at you, cod.
Getting there: 28, Main Market, Lodhi Colony, call 9650185005, available for lunch and dinner all through winter.
