Singapore’s darling cocktail bar, 28 HongKong Street (number 25 on the World’s 50 Best Bars list for 2017) is flying in for a stirring collaboration with Ek Bar. 

Be there on June 21 and 22, when 28 HKS’ Co-Bar Captain Lukas Kaufmann and Sous Chef Richie Tam will take over Ek Bar for an amazing pop-up event. Seriously, don’t miss it. This will translate into a sexy conceptual bar menu inspired by the Golden Age of cocktails (between the 1860’s and Prohibition) paired with a best-of list of bar snacks from 28 HKS. 

Here’s what we’re looking forward to drinking: Hittin’ Switches, dark rum, Campari, passion fruit syrup, lime juice, cold brew coffee, overproof dark rum, Aphrodite bitters and saline solution; 93 ‘Til Infinity, Encanto Pisco Grand and Noble (a Peruvian pisco), lemon juice, pineapple cordial and sparkling wine; Czech The Method, coffee, Connemara (a peaty Irish whiskey), Green Spot (a single pot still Irish whiskey), Becherovka (herbal bitters), burnt malt syrup and stout; The Real Slim Shandy, Death’s Door Vodka, Amaro Nonino (grappa), Mathilde Peach (a fruit liqueur-based brandy), lime juice, ginger honey and wheat beer. 

And don’t leave without sampling small plates like Salmon Poke; Mac n Cheese Balls; and Chicken Pie Tee. 

This peg partnership is the first in a series of carefully-curated associations that Ek Bar is focusing on through the year, “choosing partners that share a similar culinary philosophy, and look to champion the finest regional ingredients”.  We wonder who Ek Bar’s next lover will be.
