People, put on your Blue Suede Shoes; things are about to get rolling.
The hugely popular Tony award winning Broadway and West End musical, Million Dollar Quartet will be staged in India for the second time! (Bengaluru from February 26 to March 1 and in Mumbai from March 5-8.) Book tickets here.
Those who worship other Kings, and live in the dark, here’s what the musical is about: Million Dollar Quartet is inspired by the famous recording session that brought together rock ’n’ roll legends, Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins for the first and only time.
The musical features a score of 24 greatest rock ‘n’ roll hits of all time, including Blue Suede Shoes, Fever, That’s All Right, Sixteen Tons, Great Balls of Fire, Walk the Line, Whole Lotta Shakin’ Goin’ On, Who Do You Love?, Matchbox, Folsom Prison Blues and Hound Dog. It’s no wonder that the last time this show played at the NCPA, people from the audience jumped up and danced in the aisles. Seriously; watch here.
Starring Peter Duncan and produced by Mark Goucher and Laurence Myers, Million Dollar Quartet is presented in India by Blank Slate who last brought major West End productions such as Agatha Christie’s The Mousetrap and P. G. Wodehouse’s Jeeves and Wooster in Perfect Nonsense, to the country.
A full house at this show, will only mean that you will gain access to other world-class theatre productions in the future, so show up to support the arts. And to dance to A Whole Lotta Shakin’ Goin’ On.
Tip: Before the show, listen to the Million Dollar Quartet playlist on Spotify so you’re all set to sing along.
